Injured newborn kitten bleeding and still. Is he dying? What can I do?

This is a concerning presentation for a kitten. I would recommend to continue to wipe her nose and open the mouth to clear it. Rub the kitten in small circular movements to get it breathing. Seek immediately veterinary intervention as that wound on the the back requires an immediate check up and treatment.

This is an emergency. You need to take your kitten to a pet ER right away. Small kittens can die very quickly from injuries but they can also recuperate very quickly if treated properly. It is important to find where the blood comes from and how serious the injury is. The fact that the neck is hurting is especially concerning. Please take your kitten to an emergency veterinarian now.

Kittens are pretty resilient, & we often see these heart stopping accidents with absolutely no serious effects to the cat or kitten. If the kitten seems comfortable, no difficulty or abnormal breathing, then he should be fine. I'm so sorry that's happened to Nawab! If you have absolutely no option to take him to a vet, all you can do at home is try to keep him in a warm, safe area and offer him food and water (hand feeding, but not force feeding) hourly. Unfortunately without medical supplies and diagnostic information (X-rays, bloodwork), there just isn't much that you can do. If he has survived until now, and his breathing is not worse, continue nursing him along; he may pull through. I am so sorry there isn't more that you can do at home.

Hello. If the kittens were premature, then you have to wonder why. Perhaps Simba has some underlying condition or disease that caused the early delivery. I do not think the temperature is to blame, but you can try cooling Simba & her kitten down by indirectly placing a fan near her. Having the fan blow over a couple of frozen pop bottles will also cool things down a bit. But there is really very little you or I could do to save such a tiny kitten. If you decide to let Simba have another litter, make sure she is free of diseases like leukemia & feline immunodeficiency virus, that she is up to date on all appropriate vaccinations, & wormed for the common intestinal parasites in your area. Some kittens get weak and cold which can become life threatening. You can carry the kitten in your pocket to keep it warm and hold it onto the mother to nurse if possible. In addition the kitten may have been born with a medical problem and is not going to survive. Make sure the others are warm and nursing. Some new mothers are not as good at taking care of kittens as others, especially that many. That is a big litter so you may need to supplement the kittens with kitten milk replacer if the mother doesn’t have enough milk for all of them. He will likely need antibiotics, pain medication and food or sugar to support his blood sugar. In the meantime, you can rub syrup in the gums if the kitten has not eaten recently.
