The number of ocellaris clownfish you should put in a tank is one or two. Clownfish love to pair off, so with three or four in an aquarium, two of them can make a pair and start to pick on the others. Ocellaris clownfish are natural plankton pickers, eating individual zooplankton or phytoplankton such as copepods and tunicate larvae floating in the water column. They also eat algae from the reef surface or undigested food from their host anemones.

For your clownfish pet, encourage steady growth and long life by feeding them a large variety of fish food, including flake fish food, live meaty fish food, frozen fish food and some vegetables like spinach. It’s important to give this omnivorous clownfish species a varied diet.

On average, a clownfish is about 3-inches long and can grow up 4.3-inches.

The clownfish species live in warm bodies of water like the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean and the Red Sea. They find a home in anemones in sheltered reefs or lagoons. When you bring them home, they will live in a saltwater aquarium tank.
