Congratulations on your new dog! I like Revolution if you are looking for a topical product. It consistently works well and is well tolerated. If you like the idea of an oral product better, I like Trifexis (it’s another all in one product). Sometimes though the pets can smell the Trifexis and they won’t eat it. In that instance, I like Simparica and Interceptor. My personal preference is oral products. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

What's the best monthly topical flea & parasite prevention for cats?
Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! For cats, I would recommend Revolution which a topical solution applied once monthly. It helps prevents fleas and intestinal parasites in cats. It is easy to use and very effective in cats. This is a prescription medication your can obtain through Jax's veterinarian. My cat got Frontline Plus and Revolution. Is this combination safe?
Since Frontline plus is a different type of flea preventive (fipronil + a larval development inhibitor) from Revolution (an avermectin) there should be no problem. There is no adverse interaction reported that I could find.

Revelution for cats ( has to be made for cats!) and simparica for dog. In addition, at the same time you are treating the pets, you should get the environment professionally treated or trhe fleas will continue to cause problems.
