Choosing flea, tick, heartworm meds: Revolution, Advantix, Heartgard?
Congratulations on your new dog! I like Revolution if you are looking for a topical product. It consistently works well and is well tolerated. If you like the idea of an oral product better, I like Trifexis (it’s another all in one product). Sometimes though the pets can smell the Trifexis and they won’t eat it. In that instance, I like Simparica and Interceptor. My personal preference is oral products. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

My cat has flea allergies. What are the best products to use?
I would recommend using Revolution for at least 3 months. If Jackie has a skin infection she may need antibiotics. You would have to have a physical performed at your veterinarian to determine this. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

My cat got Frontline Plus and Revolution. Is this combination safe?
Since Frontline plus is a different type of flea preventive (fipronil + a larval development inhibitor) from Revolution (an avermectin) there should be no problem. There is no adverse interaction reported that I could find.

What's the best monthly topical flea & parasite prevention for cats?
Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! For cats, I would recommend Revolution which a topical solution applied once monthly. It helps prevents fleas and intestinal parasites in cats. It is easy to use and very effective in cats. This is a prescription medication your can obtain through Jax's veterinarian. My cat has tapeworms. Does Revolution Plus kill them or prevent them?
Revolution Plus will not kill tapeworms. You will need to have Bella Blue seen by your veterinarian for confirmation and for treatment with an appropriate medication. Get her back onto flea medication and use it for at least 3 consecutive months (to break the flea life cycle) or, preferably, year round. You will likely need to treat the house as well. Vacuum everywhere and dispose of the bag or empty the canister outdoors immediately after. Wash all bedding in the hottest water allowable by fabric and dry in the dryer. Use an area treatment, such as Indorex or Knockout, to prevent reinfestation. You will need to keep her out of living areas until the area treatment is completely dry.
