Are Nylabone Healthy Edibles a good and safe chew for my dog?
Hi Diana, I have not yet tried the Nylabone Healthy Edibles with my dogs, but I just looked at the ingredients and think they might be a nice treat for Joey. Certainly, I always recommend monitoring a dog with any edible chew because they will sometimes bite off too large of a chunk, but I suspect that will be less of a problem with the Healthy Edibles than some of the other chew options on the market. For my own personal dogs, I like bully sticks, large rawhide chews, or cow or pig ears - all of these can be good options for chewing, and will help to prevent tartar build-up and periodontal disease. You may need to try a few different options for your dog to see what she likes. You should also supervise her closely at first to make sure that she is not attempting to swallow any of these items whole.

Heavy chewer dog: What are the best chews & how often for treats?
Thank you for submitting your question and congratulations on your first dog! Treats should not comprise more than 10% of the diet. They should be given in small amounts. If you are giving Milk Bones, by the tiny size and only give several a day. Most dogs in this country are overweight. Being strict with his diet from the start with help to prevent this from occurring with him. As far as the best chew, it is based on the individual dog. The chew needs to be something he enjoys, but more importantly something he cannot break pieces off and swallow. This can become a surgery to remove. I hope this information helps!

Are bully sticks, rawhide, antlers, or Nylabone safe for dog teeth?
I never recommend antlers because they do break teeth, and rawhides pose a chocking and intestinal blockage risk. Bully sticks are fine as long as you watch your dog when he eats it, and the Nylabone Petsafe Wood Chew is fine too. I hope this helps!

That looks like a rawhide type which is soft enough for puppies when supervised and removed before they become small enough to try and swallow. It is important to avoid over hard toys such as real bones, antlers, nylabone while he still has baby teeth
