I called customer service to let them know we received a bad batch of shredded chicken recipe with sweet potatoes and carrots. After texting with them, because you can't get them on the phone, they tell you you need to give them your credit card number an pay $5 to talk with someone. I was just trying to let them know about the bad food. Our dogs vomited for an hour or so. Thought they would appreciate hearing that so they could let other people know. But all they wanted was $5 to talk so they just hung up since I would not pay. Not good service. What the heck kind of company is that??

We switched my elderly dog to this food when her teeth no longer allowed her to eat kibble. It made a big difference for her in terms of happiness and regaining weight, but she also became very itchy and started chewing herself raw. We didn’t realize the connection. She had special shampoos, a cytopoint injection, and had to spend a lot of time wearing a cone. When I finally wondered if it was the Freshpet, we tried giving her homemade chicken and rice instead and the itching went away. We tried Freshpet again in a pinch the other day and the itching and chewing came back. If this happens with your dog, suspect the food. The main ingredients in this are things my dog is used to from her previous kibble or that we also put in her homemade food, but Freshpet also adds “natural flavors” and some other additives. I wish they wouldn’t. We haven’t yet found an alternative and I’m not happy trying to figure out homemade nutritional balance for our dog.

My picky dog will eat his food with no problem if I mix a few spoons of this into it!

We recently purchased Freshpet Vital Chicken Recipe for our 50+ lb dog. He has always been a fussy eater, never seeming to enjoy the dog foods we fed him so we decided to give Freshpet a try despite the cost for a large dog (we’re retirees). We have never seen him devour his food before like he does with Freshpet. It’s amazing what a good dog food can do! Now he reminds us when it’s time to eat and he eats it all in record time. He also looks healthier and has more energy than before. We highly recommend Freshpet to anyone looking for a quality dog food.

First time ordering product from PetCo, encountered with double charges on my credit card account. This was not a great impression for me.

I bought this food because my baby would not eat his kibble! He went to the vet and his pancreas was inflamed and we put him on a bland diet and couldn't put him back on kibble! This was the best choice he's so happy!
