I've used this carrier for several years now for an 18 lb Maine Coon cat. I only use it for short trips, (vet, care giver, etc), and I have never had an issue with breakage. I envy anyone strong enough to carry a Maine Coon with the handle only -- I always have to lift it with both hands on the sides -- so obviously, I don't carry it far. However, I see my vet techs and others carry him easily with one arm by the handle. Not sure if there is weight recommendation on these other than sizing, but mine has held up. Thinking of switching over to wheels though so I can manage the cat transport better.

Take the bad reviews on here with a grain of salt. Hopefully my review offers better insight than just a myopic sour experience. I bought this about a month ago and Im thinking about buying another. I like the fact that it's a top load and front side accessible. But you have to use common sense. I highly recommend that you reinforce the top door hinges with zip ties for added piece of mind. ( See the pictures. Dont zip tie the side with the latch to open and close)( Make sure that the zip tie "buckle" is on the outer part of the kennel, I also recommend clipping the excess and burning the end to round out the zip tie material to prevent accidental scratches) Don't make the mistake of thinking of these reinforcements as golden-clad Solutions for life. After a certain weight limit I wouldn't trust the top handle. Definitely start carrying it from the sides..... I also recommend using zip ties for the sides along the edge of the kennel for extra support.... For the people that think that it is difficult to assemble, I would suggest to take it to a store and ask them kindly to assemble it for you. This is a perfect essential kennel for kittens. But Common Sense dictates that you will eventually need to reinforce its weak spots as the cat gets heavier and older. I am very happy with the one I bought and I am looking forward to buying another one. I think some of the negative comments are misleading. And if you are on the fence about this. You should definitely buy it. I got the extra small Size for two kittens that I adopted at the Store. The top door is perfect. And it was a major selling point for me. I want to get another one so that each of my cats can have its own when we go to the vet as they get older.

Recently purchased. Difficult to assemble. I broke one of the plastic pieces trying to attach it and sliced open my finger. If I use this I will need to attach zip ties so the item is more secure. There is no way I would recommend this item. I work with animals and will make sure my clients know to steer clear.

The EveryYay 2 door pet kennel is just the right size for my cat. I purchased the XXS. The large doors have an open mesh so she can see out easily. The construction is solid and door latches are secure and easy to operate. The best feature is the height. There's enough room for my cat to stand or sit up comfortably. Highly recommend over other kennels.

The carrier itself seems like it's good quality and will work nicely. I was very disappointed that it did not come assembled, and there was no indication that you had to put it together when it arrived.

I have 1 & was buying a 2nd (because our 2 kitties are growing!). I measured 1 we had & ordered the 1 with dimensions closest to 1st 1. It seems to be a lot smaller than i expected.

I bought this kennel two months ago for my kitten. She is a maine coon so I got the small for her size. I only used it twice… the first time was to take her home and the second was to take her to the groomers…. After I picked my kitten from the groomers, I walked 5 blocks before I would get on the car… during those 5 blocks, when I was walking, I was holding the handle that’s on top of the kennel… I want to specify that this kennel has 2 metal doors, one on the side and the other on top but everything else is plastic. I believed this kennel was sturdy so i did not mind the plastic or price…. Then, the plastic holding the top of the metal door broke and the kennel fell to the floor with my cat in it and all I had was the metal door on my hand… in seconds, my poor kitty ran to hide under a car or worse ran to cross the streets… I ran after her and i don't know how but i jumped and I was able to grab her from the back, and at the same time she bit me… but when I hold her, she calmed down… I calmed myself too and people around started helping me with the kennel and the door so i put the door back to its place even though one side was broken and I had to hold the kennel like a package so i could finally get to the car… my cat could have died if she crossed the street and I actually ended up with my knee bleeding and I had to visit the clinic for antibiotics because of her biting my finger.. my kitten is about five to seven pounds and she fits well in this kennel .. maybe hold the kennel with both hands and get rid of the handle so this incident doesnt happen

The size and shape is awesome, its a little taller, wider and a smig shorter than the usual. perfect for my large cat and fits in my cars front seat nicely (fits in the seat way better than the longer crates) . The top opening size is a dream, its a lot easier to put my cat in, relatively speaking. The build quality is it's biggest concern, especially at the price point. The shell itself is plenty strong/sturdy. The body latches are 100% plastic, and the hinge points are flimsy plastic, AS IS, I would, in NO WAY, trust its integrity from a decent impact in a fall with a pet inside. With that said, FORTUNATELY the manufacturer put holes for zip ties in all the necessary attachment/hinge points :-). It is very east to place zip ties where needed (each corner even has a hole for a small long bolt). I zip tied the top door hinge, but not the latch. Using a bungie around the body as a back up safety for the top door is probably a good idea. I don't plan on using the front door so it will stayed zip tied. If your ok with storing this assembled, its a great solution, not so much if your going to reassemble on a regular basis because of the plastic attachment points.
