I found a weak bat in my yard, it's not moving. What to do?

Thanks for reaching out about the bat and including photos. Cat bites and scratches are notorious for causing infections so a veterinary or wildlife rescue group, is highly recommended. If the swelling is due to a fracture, that need to be set or else won't be able to fly and eat. Good luck.

Thanks for reaching out about your rescued bird. By the photos, he appears very depressed and weak. A veterinary clinic or wildlife rehabilitation society should be contacted. Provide heat support in the 80-85 F range, offer water via a small syringe. Only chance is to try and nurse back to health. Good luck.

It would be hard to tell if it is OK or not without an exam in person. It could be the bird is just stressed out from the day's activity, however, with wild animals it is best to try and find a vet that will see them, or a local wildlife rehab in your area that will take the bird in, examine it, treat it, and re-release it in the wild.

He may be stressed or injured. Without an exam, it is difficult to determine. Monitor it as best as you can. If he falls out of the tree, place him in a soft, padded box or cage until he recovers. You can also contact a local veterinarian and ask if they know of or work with a wildlife specialist that could examine, treat and eventually release the bird.

Oh my, he does looks quite sick. He looks quite old as well. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do at home for him. If you wanted to give him the best chance at survival you would need to get him to a vet for an exam. Hopefully the vet will be able to treat him (depending on what he has going on). It's possible the bird may be injured or ill. If he still doesn't recover, even after eating and drinking and resting some, it is a good idea to contact a local wildlife rehab in your area. They may be able to come get the bird (or have you bring him to them) so he can be examined, treated for any issues, and safely re-released.
